Spots & Scrolls

My style goal this fall is to not get stuck in my comfort zone. I tend to dress very classic & preppy, with small doses of trends. I wouldn’t say I’m in a style rut but there is definitely a look I always gravitate towards. So while shopping at Fashion’s Night Out I tried to pick some items that I normally wouldn’t think I could pull off & surprised myself by thinking, yes, I actually can!

I managed to stick to my old standby, Loft, but did come home with a number of printed pieces to add to my solid colored wardrobe.

zoe ankle pants in dalmatian print| stained glass scrolls tee| chandelier scrolls shift dress| cheetah ruffle collar dress

I wanted a pair of printed pants & love how these will go with anything. Plus the neutral colors allow me to ease into my new fashion goals.

I think I am most excited to wear the cheetah dress- with a topknot & minimal jewelry its going to become my new favorite this fall!

Look forward to seeing these in a few outfit posts over the next few weeks!

Wear to Work: Ladylike Lace

I think lace can be a bit difficult to pull off, without looking like you’ve arrived from the Victorian Era. Or are wearing a wedding dress. A little lace can go a long way, so for work I love the look of a lacy blouse with more structured pants or jacket, or a dark lace for evening.

topshop peter pan collar shirt| dorothy perkins shoulder bag| j crew lace trimmed blouse| asos tornado boots| stella & dot geneve cuff| tibi silk & lace dress| miss selfridge nude lace peplum dress

And while evening dresses aren’t necessarily appropriate for work, these were just too pretty to not include! Plus I think they’d be great for any type of evening work event since they are feminine & not overly sexy.

Snapshots: Fashion’s Night Out

Nothing makes the the work week better than an evening of shopping & drinks with your friends! We hit up FNO Georgetown, where I went a little print crazy at Loft (I’ll be sharing my purchases on Wednesday).
